We are a small Anglican parish serving Williamsburg and the surrounding area. Each Sunday we gather to worship God through Scripture, prayer, and the Holy Eucharist—the center of our life together.
Whether you are exploring Christianity, returning to church after time away, or coming from another Christian tradition, you are welcome among us.
Worship
Our worship follows the historic Anglican Prayer Book liturgy. You will hear readings from Scripture, join in prayers of the Church, sing together, hear a sermon, and receive Holy Communion.
If you are new to liturgical worship, everything you need to follow the service is printed in the bulletin. There is no expectation that you will already know what to do.
Holy Communion
At Good Shepherd, the Eucharist is the heart of our worship. In this sacrament we receive the Body and Blood of Christ and are strengthened in our life with him.
All baptized Christians seeking to follow Jesus are welcome to receive Communion. If you prefer not to receive, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing or remain in your seat.
A Small Parish
Our congregation is small and personal. On most Sundays about 25–30 people gather for worship, including several young families and longtime Christians whose faith helps guide our life together.
Because of our size, it is easy to get to know people and become part of the community.
Children
Children are welcome in worship. Their presence is a gift to the church.
There is a play area downstairs available during the service if children or parents need a break, and we are continuing to grow in how we support families.
